Britain's first national Park, the Peak District draws crowds in search of the wild beauty of the heather-covered moors, or the wooded dales of the River Dove. The eastern edge of the Peak District descends through stone-walled meadows to sheltered valleys. The Roman spa of Buxoton adds a final hint of elegance before the flatlands of south Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
