Quintessential Bed and Breakfasts
Talley Abbey

Founded in 1180 by the Lord Rhys, Talley Abbey was the only Abbey in Wales of the Premonstratensians or White Canons monastic order. Talley Abbey was not well endowed, although The Lord Rhys's descendants continued to support it. Only parts of the Abbey were ever completed. Today it lies amid peaceful hills at the head of the two lakes. There is no admission charge but car parking is limited. The village of Talley away from the main road has charming cottages and forestry walks. A path leads through the churchyard to the lakes which form part of a nature reserve with a hide.
