A beautiful Georgian townhouse located in the centre of Woodstock, on the edge of the Cotswolds and 7 miles from Oxford, The Glove House is about 400 years old. Used as a glove workshop in the 1870′s, Christopher Daggett was one of Woodstock’s largest glove manufacturers. Whilst there is little sign of glove-making today, the house has a wonderful sense of history; its oak paneled reception hall with open fire place and its spacious bedroom suites have no doubt borne witness to many a tale.
A disaffected engineer who has long been drawn to the world of luxury hospitality, Francesco, an Italian, and Caroline, who combines a City job with a return to her Cotswold roots, are your hosts at The Glove House. They have lavished attention and their impeccable taste on this very beautiful Georgian home which exudes peace and quiet, and offers guests every luxurious comfort and a true escape from the busy world outside.

Choose from one of three boutique, chic and incredibly spacious suites. Subtle Farrow & Ball wall colours, wonderfully comfortable beds with pocket sprung mattresses, luxurious duvets and pillows, expensive white linens and beautiful soft furnishings are just part of this boutique bed and breakfast in historic Woodstock.
In house cuisine: Served in the elegant dining room, the breakfast menu changes with the seasons, but will always include freshly-squeezed orange juice, free range and locally sourced produce for a cooked breakfast, and homemade granola, fruit compotes and Bircher muesli. For a change, try Francesco's 'strapazzate' eggs (scrambled eggs with parmesan and cream!). Tea and cake are offered on arrival or a glass of Prosecco and nibbles if you prefer.
Eating out: There are at least a dozen places to eat within a few hundred metres of The Glove House. These range from tearooms to Mediterranean and most things inbetween. A great emphasis is placed on using locally sourced produce. If you would like to go further afield to eat, there are plenty of gastropubs and lovely restaurants to choose from. We are very happy to make recommendations and reservations for you.

Described in the Domesday Book as a royal forest, Woodstock is more famously known as the home of Blenheim Palace, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Blenheim Palace was built in the early 18th Century to celebrate the victory over the French in the War of the Spanish Succession and as a gift to the First Duke of Marlborough - the military commander who led the Allied forces in the Battle of Blenheim on 13th August 1704.
Only seven miles from Oxford, Woodstock is a fine Georgian town with a distinct Royal heritage, containing many attractive period buildings: the 18th Century Town Hall; the Church of St Mary Magdalene with its Norman doorway, early English windows and a musical clock, which plays tunes hourly.
