Located in the heart of the Northumberland National Park and with grounds designed by Capability Brown, Hesleyside is a magnificent and historic house which is now home to William and Anna Charlton and their family. The ancestral home of the Border Reiver Charlton family since 1343, the land at Hesleyside (from the original pele tower to today's magnificent 18th Century home) has been continuously inhabited by the same family, in an unbroken line, since the reign of Richard the Lionheart.
Since moving into Hesleyside in 2011, William and Anna have undertaken a major renovation to bring this historic house to the height of luxury in country house bed and breakfast. Heated with wood-chip from the estate woods, all guest bedrooms have been fully restored to the highest standards of luxury and a new Library created where guests can enjoy the papers or an evening drink around a roaring fire, whilst enjoying the atmosphere of this historic family home.
