Perched high on the UK's most southerly point, by beach and coastal path, Bay House is an immaculate 1920s luxury bed and breakfast. Lying in your bed or contemplating the view from every aspect, the Atlantic Ocean is visible below, with tufted cliffs and hidden coves, long home to Cornish fishermen and notorious smugglers. A truly romantic destination in the most fabulous location, the very stuff of writers and poets.
Having offered luxury bed and breakfast in other fabulous houses in Cornwall, Carla and John Caslin moved to Bay House in Cornwall in 2010. Carla is Dutch and met John when he was working in Holland. Now retired, John is the resident 'chef' and breadmaker. As with all Quintessential Members, nothing is too much trouble for their guests.

Built in the 1920s, each of the three luxurious bedrooms at Bay House takes advantage of the dramatic coastal views. Antique and contemporary furniture complement luxury soft furnishings. Tropical plants flourish in the garden due to its southerly location and the summer house is a great place to enjoy a sunny day and afternoon tea. Breakfast is served in the open-plan dining area with its great views. There is plenty of choice of local restaurants for eating out in the evening.
Choose from the three luxurious and beautifully appointed double bedrooms, aptly named The Atlantic, Ocean Breeze and Quarterdeck
With a justifiable claim to be one of the finest bedrooms in Cornwall, The Atlantic is the largest bedroom with a bay window giving exceptional views over Lizard Point and the ocean beyond. With its large high quality double bed (two independent, adjustable mattresses), beautiful cotton bedding, antique furniture and original works of art on the walls, The Atlantic is beautifully finished in designer soft furnishings and a good sized en suite bathroom with spacious wet room shower
With equally breathtaking views, the Quarterdeck and Ocean Breeze bedrooms also have double beds and superb ensuite shower rooms
All three bedrooms have flat screen televisions, DVD and ipod players, Wifi access and tea and coffee making facilities.
Take a stroll before breakfast, to Lizard Point or down to the crystal clear waters of Housel Bay
Depending on the weather, take a leisurely Cornish breakfast in the magnificent dining room with wonderful sea views or on the terrace where 3,000 miles of ocean beckon before you
Return from a hard day's exploring and enjoy a Cornish cream tea on the terrace in sunnier climes
Before heading out for dinner, relax with a glass of something chilled and contemplate the view with the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below
Inhouse cuisine: Served in the light-filled living room with extravagant views of the ocean, breakfast at Bay House is a very Cornish affair with bread baked by your host's fair hand
Eating out: There is a plethora of choice for eating out. John and Carla are very happy to make recommendations and reservations for you.

With its dramatic cliffs shaped by the Atlantic, The Lizard, the most southerly point of the United Kingdom, features white beaches, turquoise seas and unique nature.
Recently voted one of the world's best beaches, at Kynance Cove you'll experience incredible scenery, white sand and clear turquoise water. This beach is a must for all sun-lovers and sea-paddlers. The short but steep path down to the beach, part of the South West Coast Path, takes you across a small section of the Lizard heathland which is home to some of the rarest flora and fauna in the UK. With scenery more like that of North Cornwall, but with fewer tourists, this little cove will entice you to paddle in its crystal clear waters and peer into its rockpools even if you are more of a “laze on the deckchair” kind of person. Above, you can walk for miles along the South West Coastal Path looking out to three thousand miles of ocean.
On the map: Detailed driving instructions from Lizard will be provided on booking.
By car: Driving from central London 5-6 hours depending on time of day and driving conditions
By train: From London Paddington to Penzance (or the Riviera Sleeper) and take a taxi
By air: Fly to Newquay from either Birmingham or London Gatwick. A car hire will be needed to get to The Lizard
